Clark by MJoyO Clark by MJoyO
This is a fictional character of mine from a book that I'm writing (it's also on my dA account ;) ) I didn't intentionally draw Clark, but when I started drawing the hair, I realized that he's exactly what I imagined Clark to look like (minus the scar running across his forehead).
Again, this face has overly huge eyes, the ears are out of place, and I need to work on the shadowing for the nose.
Tell me what you think. :typer: revamp (I legit just figured out where the emoticons have been hiding since I reunited with my dA account. *facepalm* :facepalmextreme:  Hehe, I may be enjoying this a little too much. OMG MOAR POEMS!

I immediately thought of Smallville when I saw this X3

I like the portrait and the amount of detail you put into him. You actually made a nose look like a nose, I remember that was one of the hardest things to do for portraits XD

If you don't mind a little friendly constructive criticism. Then read here! :dummy:

That awkward shade at the top of the forehead seems a bit out of place... maybe you had a reason for placing it there, but with it smugging across the rest of the well defined forehead, it just seems there... of course, erasing it would likely do more harm than good, as shading is sensitive to that, so if that's the case,I understand entirely.
Also the hair seems under detailed in comparison to the rest of the face, the trick with it is repetition. Try drawing long, curled lines along one another over and over, starting at the base of where you can see it, to where it ends. You can also have it fade and the resume to add a little light detail to it, but that's mainly for lightly colored hair. It's tricky to master, but it's all worth the effort.

Other than that, he looks great! I lover his gentle expression and the neck details you put into him. Maybe share a little about him in the artists comments area? I'm sure we would all love a glimpse of his character.

Thank you!
Your constructive criticism proved quite useful! In response to the hair comment- I am extremely lazy, and usually fudge up my hair because I don't want to sit and draw repetitive lines. A laziness problem I should probably overcome. xD

I actually remember commenting about this despite how long ago that was X3

Hair is pretty tricky and very time consuming to say the least. There isn't an easy way to do it (least not that I know of) and it could either make things look really good.... or really bad.... I suggest playing around with different styles and practice that way

Other than that, happy to comment!
